Wireless Repeater

If certain areas of your business or home seem to have a weak signal there are several things that you can do. Those typically relate to modifying the placement of the router.Router

However, what I do is a guaranteed way to ensure better coverage (and performance) throughout the business or home. Halfway in between your router and the weak area, install a wireless repeater (which is an access point in the repeater mode).

A repeater simply regenerates a network signal in order to extend the range of the existing network infrastructure. A WLAN repeater does not physically connect by wire to any part of the network. Instead, it receives radio signals from an access point, end user device, or another repeater and retransmits the signal. This makes it possible for a repeater located in between an access point and distant user to act as a relay for frames traveling back and forth between the user and the access point. To the right is the Linksys repeater that I use.
